Dear Customers, Channel Partners, Technology Partners and Colleagues,
It’s hard to believe we are at the halfway point in the first quarter of 2015. Time is flying by. But before we get too far into the New Year, I want to take a moment and boast about all of our accomplishments. And by our, I mean you and the team who supports you at the home of VESTA.

I have selfish reasons for wanting to call out our successes. Not only am I very proud to be associated with all of you, but I want you to be 150% assured, as we move into 2015, of our commitment to you, your future successes and the communities we serve together.

I want to start by sharing our vision for public safety and then share a few of the successes we accomplished together in 2014. The reason I want start with our vision is because I want you to see the big picture that guides our work and explains why our successes are so important.

We envision and are building a platform which facilitates the creation of one complete Public Safety communications solution. We refer to this platform as the public safety communications ecosystem. This ecosystem anticipates the rapid changes occurring in technology, the challenge of reduced budgets and the needs of public safety personnel to handle the next generation communications, like text, telematics, and multimedia. We are building the ecosystem on open standards so you can make the choices that work for you short term and long term. We recognize we cannot build every piece of the ecosystem which is why we have great technology partners which allows us to deliver the expertise that fits your requirements.

How does this vision translate to implementing the next generation communications we are all facing?

First, our VESTA® 9-1-1 and VESTA™ Radio solutions are built for next generation. When you implement these solutions you are on the path to next gen. Our notification portfolio is built to support our 9-1-1 and Radio solutions because it closes the communications loop by providing effective means of alerting populations at risk.

Second, the successes we have had over the last 12 months point out how we are taking the first steps to fulfill the vision.

I want to start with federal deployments. Our VESTA® call processing system serves 140 Army Air Force and Coast Guard bases and other highly secure federal agencies around the world such as Ft Meade Army Base, MD, JB Myer/Henderson Hall Army Base, VA Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, Misawa Air Base, Japan and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, to give you a few examples.

The VESTA call processing system recently achieved the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification. It is the first IP based E9-1-1 system solution to be approved for use by the Department of Defense (DoD), built from the ground up to be NG9-1-1 compliant. Being JITC certified means our VESTA® call processing system has met strict guidelines to operate in an elevated security-sensitive environment for the government and the military.

Now let’s look at our successes in Public Safety. Many of you may not know that 6 out of every 10 9-1-1 calls are answered by our equipment. We don’t take this lightly and we aren't slowing down. We are rapidly replacing systems with our next generation VESTA 9-1-1 platform at a pace faster than any platform we have ever built. Today we serve more than 3,500 PSAPs in the US and Virgin Islands. Since we released VESTA 9-1-1, we have installed 616 of those sites or, 3,331 positions. In 2014 alone we installed VESTA 9-1-1 in 432 sites which translates to 2,425 positions.

To support these agencies, in 2014, we trained 336 Channel Partner technicians and we trained 6,636 Public Safety personnel.

We are together preparing Public Safety for next generation.

With regard to notification, we provide and have for many years, notification solutions to companies all over the world in the public and private sectors. Our notification customers include Citigroup, State Farm, New York City Department of Health, Greater Harris County, TX and many more. These solutions offer institutions of every size the speed, intelligence and reliability necessary to notify and mobilize critical resources at a moment’s notice.

Last year, when we surveyed our VESTA 9-1-1 and VESTA® Communicator customers, 76% said they would recommend our solutions to industry colleagues.

And our VESTA Radio business continues to grow. Our value proposition of open standards for more choice and control without the restrictions of a propriety environment resonates with government agencies everywhere. We were just awarded our largest U.S. VESTA Radio system for Sarasota/Manatee Counties in Florida. You will hear more about that in the coming months.

When you read the stories in this newsletter, the City of Richardson, running their VESTA 9-1-1 and VESTA Radio traffic over one IP backbone, the call takers in CA and TX describing how VESTA 9-1-1 helps them to do their job with confidence, the City of Westminster, that has capability now with VESTA Radio they never had before, what I want you to walk away with is this one simple message. You can count on us. The facts and our successes speak for themselves.
